I'm wondering if these 2 cams are similar in specs. I have attached a photo of the tag on the 5442 camera

The question is which version is it?

It would comparable to whichever version the 5442 is.

Here is what I get from the camera GUI. Looks like an older version. I presume it's an ok camera?

Ok, I'm not seeing but I was messaged that one of the photos in this post still has the S/N on it. Am I missing something here?

I guess on the barcode there is enough that someone could probably get a scan, but if you isolate the camera from the internet then it doesn't really matter.

Well what do you know, the QR code contains the serial number. Seen it with my smartphone. Have since updated the first photo to erase the QR code

Yes, an original or S2, which Dahua deemed to be the same as they didn't make a distinction.

I guess it will work for now. I was really hoping this was an S3 version because as seen by your own review, there is a big improvement in image quality between the 2. Maybe I should donate it to someone if they are willing to pay shipping.

The previous version is no slouch for the price you paid and was the gold standard until the S3. I still have my originals going. Will eventually replace with the S3.

For $70 yes. The S3 would show more, but if I recall you were looking more recognize than identify and it will do that very well.

By the way, if anyone is interested, the seller still has a few of these cameras left. At $70, you really can't go wrong.

FYI I actually saw that last week while browsing...

The pic shows it to be a S2 Z4 but the specs are copied from a S3 and the max. illumination distance shown is 60 m, which is 1/2 that of a Z4?
60m illumination is the spec for the standard 2.8-12mm bullet
