Is CBR equal to VBR 6(Best)?

Do I have the impression that it is the same or am I wrong?
 
Not exacly

With VBR best you still get a variable rate but with a cap I believe.

Well so my suspicions were true since I did a test until the hard drive was full and they recorded exactly the same number of hours in both modes. :wtf:
 
I believe when VBR (6 Best) is set, bandwidth priority is given for that level and the camera tries to prioritize that quality but understands its limitations especially when its dealing with a poorly configured network. If it detects that network activity will not have a bottle-neck, it allows the highest setting for VBR to be temporarily set. This is my theory :)
