IR control and camera model

I have 2 questions relating to BI.
My camera model is dahua
ipc-hdw5231R-ZE
1. I have no control of the IR light on my cameras from BI. I have to go to the dahua web gui in order to turn it on, off or on auto. Usually auto is fine but I would like to be able to turn it on or off momentarily from BI.

2. How do I find my camera model from within blue iris. I want to make sure that I entered the correct model in the initial BI setup.

1) BI can explicitly enable/disable via scheduled event "IR ON/OFF" (even relative to sunrise/sunset) in the Schedule tab, "Event Schedule" button...

2) model is shown in Video/configure tab of the 'camera properties' window.

btw, BI has a very comprehensive (and searchcable) Help file. see that question mark icon?...

The IR won't work from BI for me, even if I change the profile to night. I have to get into the dahua gui to adjust it.

My camera in BI is set as generic.
The only options in blue iris do not include my camera. I have posted a picture of the options for choosing a camera in BI.
Which one of these would be the best/closest choice to my camera?

try one of the dahua w/ONVIF model choices. I know for a fact BI is able to send an ONVIF command to enable disable IR.
also, may need to have 'ptz control' enabled and set to ONVIF/OXML, even if the cam is not a PTZ (for the other commands like IR ON/OFF)

you may not be setting the profiles on the camera correctly or may not be clicking save

For the profiles, I followed one of the videos on here to set them up and have been clicking save. I will choose one of the dahua models with ONVIF and see if that gets it working.

I changed the camera to the one dahua model that had ONVIF and still have zero control of the IR from within BI. Are there any settings in the dahua web gui that may not let BI have control of the IR?

You need to set it to dahua rtsp. Understand that it doesn't actually toggle the IR on and off. It toggles day and night mode. You need to long press to set it back to auto.
This function is pointless. You are not going to sit there manually toggling ir.

The easiest way is the Dauhua Sunrise/Sunset tool available in this forum.

I can’t turn on/off IR on my Dahua PTZ either. Would like to be able to, there are poorly lit areas around the house and neighborhood. Would be good to momentarily enable IR in these areas while manually operating PTZ.

I wanted to manually toggle the IR to make sure it worked in BI as well as test some of my settings with the light on and off. When I currently set my profile to night it doesn't turn the IR on until the profile from the dahua gui turns it on.
I will try changing the camera to rtsp.
I will also check out the sun tool in the forum.

I don't have a PTZ but I had to do this to allow manual IR control via Blue Iris on an Amcrest (rebranded Dahua) even though it is also ONVIF:

I have tried changing the camera to every listed dahua camera and combination in the video-->configure setting as well as the PTZ control tab and still cannot control the IR with BI. its not a big deal to switch the IR from the dahua settings however when I use the BI schedule it doesnt change the IR and the camera stays in color mode until the profile set in the dahua web gui changes the camera to night mode.

Im pretty sure I figured it out. the issue was with the settings in the dahua gui. under the profile, it needs to be set to full time day in order to give me control of the IR and profiles in BI.
