Are these cameras the same other than the form factor? The turret is considerably smaller than the bullet version. I'm installing these on a new house and I'm concerned about the large size of the bullets. Any advice is much appreciated.

The bullet comes with 4 infrared compared to 2 for the turret, so the night performance could be better with the bullet depending on your other available light.

The bullet has additional wires if you need them for anything else.

Some will say the bullet produces a slightly better image as there is more room for all the stuff.

I am trying to buy the IPC-B541R-ZE S3 version, but Andy appears to be out of them,
I cant find the model you mentioned anywhere. IPC-B541R-ZE S3

I just purchased IPC-B541R-ZE on Amazon earlier today.

Is this the same one?

Thanks

It should be the same unless you bought it from someone with old stock.

You will be able to tell by the GUI - if it is the white/blue, it is the S3 version.

Thank you for your response

Here is the link I used to purchase. Its sold by Andy himself.

Is there an updated version to the S3? Looks like its been out since 2019?

Thanks!

Then you are good.

The S3 is the new version that came out in 2024.

It is such an improvement that they could have called it a new model, but the 5442 is the known "gold standard" so they opted to simply add S3 after it to designate the new chipset.

That Amazon link is not the S3 version if what you say about the GUI is an indicator. I bought some at that same link. They still have the grey user interface. Bummer.

Do you need the bullet version or could you go with the turret? I know the turrets are S3.

Thank you all.

Looks like I'll be waiting for the bullet version in mid June.

I already drilled the holes for the bullet version :(

@EMPIRETECANDY What major differences will there be with the IPC-B54IR-ZE S3 in comparison to the IPC-B54IR-ZE

Or should I just refer to the reviews for the IPC-T54IR-ZE S3.

There are in depth reviews for the turret version.

Thanks!

I just installed nine of the non-S3 bullet cams that I purchased on Amazon one week ago. Is there anything I can do at this point?

Those are still good, next time when you buy new cams(Any model) we do some discount for you. Just contact me. Amazon still not have the S3, we just get 6 to try.

Are you happy with the performance of the cameras you have?

The 5442 non-S3 cameras are still incredible cameras.

The 5442 is the gold standard and while the S3 is the newer version, many are not out replacing the older 5442 with the newer 5442.

I have several of my 5442 older cams doing "mission critical" type viewing and decided not to swap them out with the newer S3 models I have.

And my 5442s are original versions from 2018/2019, whereas the one you bought is newer.

The S# simply means different chipsets, so your 5442 would be newer and better than my original 5442 series.

Oh I thought you said mid June.
If I purchase now, will I have to wait until Mid June to receive?
Thanks !
