I need another varifocal camera for one side of our home. I have a IPC-B5442E-Z4E on the other side and it works reasonably well. For that camera I have Day & Night on Auto for both Day and Night and it never goes into B&W. The other side (the one I need a camera for) has less light so I suspect it will go into B&W. I am looking for something at least as good as the 5442E-Z4E with varifocal lens (it will probably be around 16-24mm, I think). I did see a 8MP version but with the same sensor size so I don't think I will gain much from that. It's just for motion detection and recording faces. Are there any other recommended cams besides the IPC-B5442E-Z4E for this kind of situation?

The 5442-Z4E is still the king of the camera in that focal length.

Someone here tried the 8MP version on the same size sensor and said the 5442 series was better at night.
