IP Camera reboots when using PTZ

I've got a strange issue with a Hikevision PTZ IP camera. The picture is clear and smooth but when I try to use the PTZ features it freezes up and reboots. This only happens when the camera is connected to the network through a switch. If I make a direct connection to a laptop PTZ works as expected. I've tried another switch and the behaviour is the same. Here's what I have eliminated.
  • replaced patch cables
  • replaced POE injector
  • try different switch
  • updated camera firmware
  • updated switch firmware
 
This usually indicates a power starvation problem. Are you using CCA (copper-clad aluminum) cable or the newer thin, flat cables?
 
Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to post back with the solution. It appears that an installer (long time ago) had installed a camera with a static IP address. There was an IP address conflict with this camera. Once this was corrected the camera began to operate normally via the switch. This can be marked solved
