Hi folks. I'm wondering if there are some techies that can help please.

I had an ip cam go down. I suspect the wires were pinched.
It does not power up.

I cut the pig tail off in the hope I could see if this was the problem before ordering a new pig tail. Or if its the board, getting a new cam.

For the life of me I cannot find which 2 wires (or more) are power wires?
The are
Red
Black
Blue & white
Blue
Green & white
Green
Purple.
Bad pic included.

Can anyone help please?
Cheers

Thanks, yes I looked around at these. Mine as stated have black and red wires. The camera is rebranded, so no way of telling what make it is. Only 'Loosafe' as a brand name.
From what I can find. Black is DC- Red DC+.
Since it does not light up, I guess the board is dead.
Many thanks.
did you try another poe port? does the camera have a dc power jack you can try?

I'm guessing red, black, and purple are related to your power/ground (and not solid cores). The blue/whiteblue, green/whitegreen are probably your data pins. Not all 4 pairs are used on traditional (non-POE) ethernet.

Hi there, I use only the power jack, not poe. I wondered if 1 or more wires were combined for power. I.e. from the poe side.
Anyway, thank you.

Hmmm interesting. Of course, I cannot track from the old poe. My Cat got hold of it, now I can't find it! :-D
Thanks.

Trace out the wiring of the connector you cut off. Or is that the 'old PoE' liberated by the cat?
