I'm trying to install a few lorex, and Reolink POE cameras on a Laview (hikvision) 16 channel NVR model LV-N998932. I've tried plug n play and manual setup with zero success. I'm running an embedded firmware v4. something. If that's super important
I can get the exact version number.
Its' always best to keep the brand of cameras the same as the NVR for best results
With the exception of their Doorbell cam, Reolink should be avoided. They do really poor after dark.
I understand that. Reolink says much the same thing in some of their support pages. However...I have other cameras, and I would like to use them. I don't mind a little challenge here and there. Surely I'm not the only one that has wanted to do this? The lorex dome cameras work excellent standalone, but you can only view one camera at a time, and you have to log into each camera from your browser. It would be nice to have them all in the nice, organized NVR display screen..
Before you go bashing me for trying to use subpar cameras, not everyone can afford top of the line everything, besides the price was right.
I have a Reolink RLC-410 and RLC-420 Poe cameras. I managed to get them onto my Hikvision DS-7616NI-I2/16P NVR. I get video. I am able to continuous record but not motion only as I had hoped.
I was planning on using these for trigger cameras for some PTZ cameras I have,
Has anyone else played around with these and gotten better results?
