I am unable to find the spec for hikvision's https certificate. It definitely does not support chained certificate. Tried both pcks#8 and pkcs#1. Install success, but tcp/443 does not respond.

Create certificate request generates 1048bits key, which isn't accepted anywhere today.

So the only option is self signed.... Hikvision product's security sucks in every possible way

Is there a way to create a csr with a longer key from the console?

How do you create a CSR at all? I can't download it... choose save location, save, no error, no file either....

It does not accept pfx format. Creating self-signed cert fails with device error

The protocol doesn't determine the port. Yes 443 is the default port for https, but you can run https on any other port. There's really no reason to use anything but a self signed certificate for a camera.

Check out this thread if you haven't VPN Primer for Noobs
