I would like to have about 2 IP cameras for an apartment indoors and 1 ~ 2 at the window to monitor the parking lot through the window (so no wiring outside). Currently I am using some android smartphones and the captured videos are uploaded to network storage offsite.
requirements:
1) cameras 2MP+, preferably under $100 each
2) motion detection, recording (only during motion necessary) and notification (email preferred)
3) recordings backed up to network (FTP/cloud storage) in almost real time
I already have a server to run monitoring software. I know Blue Iris. Is there a linux solution?
Are there some kind of thin cable I can use for POE?
What type of camera do you recommend for living room and parking lot through window? imo for my use case PTZ is unnecessary. For indoor monitoring, the angle of view should be able to cover the entire room if camera placed at a corner. For parking lot monitoring through the window, PTZ might be useful. Compact dome for both?
What are you suggestions? Thanks
