I suddenly find myself being pulled in to a side job of helping select security cameras to watch the various entrance doors in an office space. All of the cameras will be looking down hallways at 36" wide doors.

At 100ppf a 2MP camera covers 19 ft, so there is no shortage of pixels on target. My first thought would be to use a long lens in something like the wedge dome or standard dome lines, but they are limited to 6mm or maybe 12mm, which would likely be fine, but will have lots of wasted wall pixels. A longer turret or bullet would look like a ceiling mounted cannon in the hallway, so that is out.

Since the lights can be turned off, IR is needed.

My present thought is to try several of the Dahua IPC-HDBW5231E-Z or look for the Z5 version, or go with the IPC-HDBW4231F-AS in a 6mm version. TO keep it simple i will probably use the NVR5216-4KS2 NVR vs Blue Iris, but am still debating that one.
