Image stabilization on PTZ4M-25X-PV not useful

Recently purchased a PTZ4M-25X-PV. This is the replacement for SD49425XB-HNR. I have a number of cameras scattered around cities and beaches. I've installed several SD49425XB-HNR cameras, and so far they are working well. Unfortunately, that's been discontinued, and the replacement is PTZ4M-25X-PV. Something that has helped is the EIS on the SD49425XB-HNR. Some of these cameras are mounted on poles which move a small amount. The EIS on the SD49425XB-HNR really eliminates that motion. The EIS on the replacement causes motion in the image even when the body of the camera isn't moving. It slides the image around in the frame a bit randomly if there's anything in frame that moves - like tree leaves, or vehicles driving by. There's no documentation available for this camera. I asked and was sent a link to a video that a user created. Hoping to find some hidden menu item that maybe lets you adjust EIS sensitivity. Some cameras have this setting like the Panasonic Pro that this camera is to replace. The older SD49425 just plain worked.

Anyone have any ideas of PTZ cameras in the price range of these that the EIS might work a bit better on given that EIS on this doesn't work?
 
I wonder if it is more a function of the 2D and 3D NR on this camera. I don't think the 49425 had 2D and 3D, just NR.

If so I would try lowering the 2D NR really low.

2D and 3D NR affects the EIS? What I am talking about is where the camera uses the extra image space around the edges to simulate holding the lens and sensor in the same place on the image. Imagine the camera on a pole. Wind blows the pole slightly back and forth, but the motion isn't visible on the output image because it figures out that the entire image is moving. If 2D and 3D NR interacts with that, I'll try playing. I'm talking good lighting - daytime - so NR shouldn't come into play.
 
Yes, I know what you are talking about.

2D NR looks for the non-moving stuff and if it thinks it is motion, it will actually make it look worse with EIS and it will think it is stuff in motion even with EIS on.

Depending on the sway, you may not be able to counter it, but I would adjust the NR low and high and see which one works best for your situation.

Maybe even try turning NR off since it is just daytime.

Thanks for that. I'll give that a try. As far as my clarification that I was talking about EIS, I absolutely understand that you know what EIS is. I was just making sure that that I didn't misstate what problem I was seeing. Also found something else on this camera that I'll make a separate thread for.
