Image quality difference between turret and bullet?

I just picked up the HDW5231R-Z and HFW5231E-Z12. I expected they would produce close to the same image except for zoom ability but I am noticing some big difference when I try to set similar exposure settings. Are there some differences with the IR filters and Iris?

The following pictures were captured with these exposure settings:
Shutter:0-16ms
Gain:0-50
Aperture: full open on bullet / auto selected on turret (the turret did not have a manual aperture control setting)
Noise reduction off (I noticed it would produce artifacts around movement).

Bullet on left, turret on right:

The night mode images make it pretty obvious that the bullet cam and turret have something different going on with IR filters. I didn't notice anything about these differences in the data sheets, and I would like to know if my cameras are functioning as expected.

update: I'm playing with this some more and speculate that the turret only uses an IR cut filter for color, while the bullet uses both and IR cut filter color and an IR Pass filter for B&W
