Hi all

I’ve 3 cams at present and recently took delivery of another Davis from Andy. All present cams at 192.168.1.x

I can’t locate this cam at all whether by Dahua config IPSS or Blueiris

any reminders / pointers? Tks

I run a wireshark packet capture while the camera is booting on the network and check for ARP packets from the cam as it starts up and attempts to get/verify it's IP address.
then, if needed, change your PC IP to match the cam's network , get into the UI and give it a valid IP on your LAN...

Also, it could be that one of your existing cams is already using the default address the new cams come with. Try (temporarily) disconnecting your other cams from the net and see if your new one shows up...

The default address is 192.168.1.108. disconnect the camera an try ping that address, if you get a response you will need to disconnect that device or change that devices address.

  • try another ethernet cable and another switch port (one at a time), if not already
  • try powering the cam with 12v adapter (in case the PoE is not working)
  • try the packet capture as the cam boot up...

I am not at home now but I have a sense that the cam is on 192.168.0.x
Rather than 192.168.1.x
Is that plausible?

Does anyone know if I can use google Remote Desktop to change IP of router etc to 192.168.0.1 and check there for the new cam or will I lose my remote connection?

I’m afraid to try that in the event I can’t reconnect as I currently have no alternative of viewing other than Remote Desktop and I’m away for a week
