Hi.

I have an old Poe NVR and thinking that is there any cheap NVR that have any more intelligent to detect real alerts like cars and humans but no rain and shadows?
Current NVR model is RS-N4104HR-P

Or is there some new firmware updates or root possibilities?

Dahua have NVR's with local (built-in) AI processing..
First was NVR-5xxx-I (and lower version NVR-4xxx-I)..
Then was -I/L series.. and now You have -EI series (both 5xxx & 4xxx)..

They can do motion detection with AI human/vehicle filtering up to 4/6/8/12/16 cameras (depending of model) and work with any ONVIF compatible cameras...

Buy somewhere You can return if this will not work with Yours cameras and check :)

PS. 5xxx-I have SMD up to 16 channels, 5xxx-I/L up to 12, 5xxx-EI up 8...

In theory each next version have more power chipset but lower count of AI channels...
Probably they use more advanced AI models which require more processing to better filter humans/cars..

So what do you recommended for me? Cameras exact model is unknown, i ordered those in one set about five yars ago. Maybe 5MP cameras if i remember right...

If i order new NVR with AI human/vehicle filtering, what do i have to check? Cameras only local POE.

Edit: And plus if there is Home Assistant compatibility, but not necessary...
Edit2: This is available at my local dealer, is it worth it?

NVR should be from the same company (and sometimes even line) as cameras.
SO You should check what cameras You have...

RS-N4104HR-P searched on google shows that NVR is from RaySharp.
I don't known this company - maybe other forum members known more about...

If the cams are old/cheap and have bad night performance (no colour night video with sharp people/faces details in motion) maybe solution is change all system to something newer and much better???

So what system is the bang for the buck with the AI and 4 cameras? No need for the 4K and best picture etc...

Just get a HiK vision Pro series NVR ie 7608/7616NI-K2 (not much more expensive than the value series)
Then use some HiLook IP camera's that support "H&V"
