I recently took pics of the first caracara I've ever seen on a Sunday drive around Lake Okeechobee. They are threatened here in Florida.

wow, look at them claws that bastage has... We have just gotten a Sparrow Hawk couple that moved into our area since the neighbor closed off a Sparrow family nesting. There are hundreds of sparrows now perching in a juniper tree in alley and sparrow hawks are picking them off quick. The other day I was raking leaves and that hawk came within 3 feet of me chasing a sparrow around a tree. We have opsrey here also. Great fish birds.
