How to update firmware when web UI firmware page does not work?

Hi, I just got DS-2CD2135F-IS, and trying to update the firmware to 5.3.6.
Problem is the firmware update page does not work, looks like some double text drawing, and the browse button does nothing, I also can't paste the path.
I tried using Chrome and IE and Edge, same problem.

This is the current device details:
Model DS-2CD2135F-IS
Serial No. DS-2CD2135F-IS20151026AACH547353131
Firmware Version V5.3.3 build 150624
Encoding Version V7.1 build 150613

Looks like the plugin is not installed or did not load correctly. The link to download the plugin is at the button of the screenshot you posted. You will have to use IE or Firefox. Chrome and Edge don't support plugins of this type.

Of course the fact you even need a plugin for anything but the video streaming is a bit ridiculous.

I did not realize I need a plugin to upgrade firmware, so bizarre, whatever happened to a standard form upload?
Anyway, if I click that link I get a 404 (link is http://192.168.1.30/codebase/WebComponents.exe)

Is there a separate download?

BTW, since your camera has a Chinese serial number it may be inadvisable to try updating the firmware as the one it came with was probably hacked to the English language.

How do I know if it is Chinese, the Amazon vendor assured me this is an international version?
If there is any doubt, I'd rather just return it.

Model number is 2135. It is a Chinese region camera with hacked multi language firmware. It is not firmware upgradable. If you want a US or western region camera don't buy from Amazon unless it specifically states: English version in retail box.
