I just got two of the DS-2CD2032-I cameras.. has anyone cut off the attached ethernet plug, and crimped their own end on it / use an RJ45 coupler?

Reason I ask is, I want to make the smallest hole possible to feed the wire through, and the connector on these is very bulky.

It should be possible to do this, but I would advise against it. Consider how short the dongle cord is, how much space you'll have to work with to attach a new end, and also consider how much work it will be to replace the camera if needed in the future. Best to just drill a bigger hole or use a junction box, or just let the cords be exposed like I do at my house LOL.

I guess I'll just be drilling a bigger hole. If I ever sell this house, the new owners can deal with the holes LOL.

I really liked the wiring of the Vivotek cameras I have, but The quality of the Hik just seem way better.
