Add light from an exterior source.

How do i disable smart ir and the whole idea of the camera was we have no exteriour lighting the first pic is not bad but i cant get it back to that

If your issue is that you'd like to see your lawn (and don't care about the roof being overexposed), turn on BLC and either choose center, or, better, choose custom and draw a rectangle on your lawn. That will make sure that it drivers the exposure so that the BLC area is properly exposed.
Even though "BLC" means "Backlight COmpensation", it is really an exposure setting that limits the area considered for auto-exposure to the BLC area.

Well yes i dont want to see the roof but i want to see the rest of the picture i can move the camera round a bit but no matter what i do i cant get it to brighten up

How do i do that ? plus why disable it i wanted an smart ir camera i have seen videos from these cameras at night and they give great footage but i cant understand why mines bad

Its right there in settings..you cannot compare indoor applications where it reflects off Walls...

I cant see any setting saying smart ir is it called anything else and the above video has no walls same camera so your saying smart ir is useless?

Move your camera a little, it's recording way too much of the roof in order to be able to use IR usefully from the ground.

How do you know those videos have Smart IR enabled btw?

Reset the camera if you've been playing around with it and made it worse.

I was shown them vides by people that has them how do i reset the camera?
Assuming you're accessing your cam through your webbrowser, go to: Configuration > System > Maintenance > under Default, choose 'Restore'
