Hikvision region code changer

I have the Region Code changer, trying to flash that onto my cameras.

Cool, let me know if you need any help. I would publish how to do the region code yourself but it's complex, but if I'm convinced by others here I will.

Yes, it's complex. other have remarked how easy it was to do here on this topic, but I can't for the life of me work out how to flash the firmware.

CBX is asleep now, I will wait till he awakens.

I used to use Linux as my main computer a few years ago. But have not dealt with Linux for a while now.

The instructions are fairly clear, if you've managed to create the file that's the hardest part - you just use the web interface to flash it - you just have to have some cunning with navigating the Chinese language menus!

Let me know if you can't find it and I'll take some screenshots...

Hi there

I promise support with my program but have to sleep sometimes :P

You have mail Philip. It's a simple problem.

(It's just that the camera web page doesn't like it if the directory/filename is too long - just move or rename the file and or the directory to make it shorter)

As always any problem send me a mail.

I wish it was as simple as that for me. I keep getting a error message "File path is too long, please reselect" in Chinese.

I've renamed it about 4 times, The last attempt I renamed to eng.dav and it still tells me file path is too long, please reselect.

All sorted. CBX was great, he found the problem and rectified it straight away.
With the cameras I purchased, Hikvision did not allow long enough entries for entering the file path, renaming the file was not enough, He had to place the file in another location on my computer that allowed a shorter file path name, so that it would fit. Once he done that, it all worked.

Actually I came upon this issue when I received these cameras last week in regards to setting up my gmail account in the web interface of my cameras. I could not add my gmail email address, it would not let me type in enough characters in the Username section.

This is an issue that was caused by Hikvision.

It worked for my 2 camera's. 2CD-2332-I.
This is how I would like to describe my experience with CBX and his region code changer:
Quick response, fair deal, clear description, helpfull and knowledgeable.
Thanks CBX, stay humble now ;-)

Thanks CBX, three DS-2CD2032-I cameras all now sorted. Definitely the 'CBX solution' is the way to go.

I just got 5 DS-2CD2732F-IS cameras from China and they are English (they have CCCH in the serial). Version 5.2.5. From what I'm reading, even though they are in English, I would benefit from this service so that, in the future, I can upgrade to the "English" version of the firmware?
