Hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I How to find the correct Firmware and Region?

Hi all,

Bought a Hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I turret a few months ago...and finally got round to installing it today.
Camera is working, but no joy with gmail email alerts. "Says Failed to connect to test server"

I'm using the right settings, smtp.gmail.com, port 465 an SSL

Had a look of the forum and it appears gmail have switched things so will I need firmware to use TLS (I have no TLS option on the current firmware v5.3.6build 151105

My question is, where do I find the latest firmware for it? How do I know if the cam is European or Chinese model? I bought it in UK, but last time I did an upgrade on a hikvision cam (a different one) I bricked it due to the wrong region firmware.

How do I ensure 100% I use the correct firmware and region?
 
If it says ch it's a Chinese version wr rr and a few others will work with english original firmware

Hi,

On the box it has a 9 digit serial beginning 56....... There is no mention of an CN or anything
 
I looked in the web config, basic info section... the only letters in the long serial number are BBWR

How else can I get gmail emails to work then? I can't get TLS on my current firmware.
Do you have a link to the correct firmware for international WWBR download?

You could email via some other email service if you can set that up?

It's ok, didn't need to upgrade firmware, used a different email provider and it worked first time.
