Here is where it gets really weird.
If I take the same camera, put it in DHCP mode or static mode with an address from my local network, turn OFF onvif within the camera, turn on Hikvision mode within the camera, then plug the camera into a POE switch on the local network, and add it as a POE camera, it works in "Hikvision mode".
What am I missing? What is going on?
I've used this same camera on several different lower grade Hikvsion NVRs, such as the Q or K or I models, and this camera always auto adds when I plug it into an NVR port.

This NVR will NOT auto-add a Hikvision clone camera, such as a YC2185I-28 (all over ebay), when plugged into directly to the NVR. I can get it to work, but I have to IP into the camera and put the camera into ONVIF mode, then I use SADP to preconfigure the IP addressing of the camera to mate it to the NVR port.Here is where it gets really weird.
