"Hikvision and Dahua simply cannot be trusted"...?

It is talked about in many threads here.

Basically, we do not allow our cameras to have access to the internet, so it is a moot point and not a factor....

What do y'all have to say about this...?

There are probably 15 or 20 threads on this subject. No camera manufacturer can be trusted none. If you take the proper measures but not allowing the camera direct access to the internet and using a VPN or something like zero tier, a hikvision or dahua camera are just as safe and secure as any other brand. John just has a hard on for hik and dahua because in the last 8 years they became very easy to acquire cheaply and disrupted the dealer market where they would screw over and users by charging $500 a camera....

That specific quote from the UK Camera Commissioner is addressing Dahua and Hikvision's refusal to answer basic questions about engaging in human rights abuses, here is the excerpt:

What rubbish, when you can decopile firmware and use real tools to analyse network traffic the people may start to listen to IPVM.

Why do you think there is a CCTV shortage, Make American Great Again, China's responce make your own components then.

As to having a camera commissioner in the UK, man you will believe anything.
