Hikvision 7616 Not saving pics or record files?

So I am using IE which seems to be the only browser that works these days with my web user interface. But when I click on capture image, or download a 1GB file, the files are not actually showing up in the folders and, possibly, not actually saving anywhere. E.g., if I take a capture, I get a little popup saying it was saved to my users\name\web\PlaybackPics folder along with the name of the file. But clicking on that popup doesn't take me to the directory. If I go to the directory manually via File Explorer, it's empty.

Same with videos, I want until the full 1gb video downloads, go to the directory it's supposed to be in, and nada.

Any ideas? Is it a permissions thing somewhere?

Yes.
Windows doesn't trust IE enough to let it drop files into user space, so they are going into the Windows VirtualStore Folder.
It does exist - but it's well hidden, not subject to search indexes.

A couple of things to do that will allow the files to be stored in the defined location :

In IE11, add the IP address of the NVR to the IE 'Trusted Sites' in the settings pages.
If that doesn't work, run IE11 'as administrator'.
