So far testing 1 cam.i click on wlan in network and click save.it goes back to lan option.how do I fix that? I'm going wired but want to test something on the wifi.are the domes mainly for under the roof or can they go on a pole.top of the roof?

The dropdown is not a selector, its only so you can enter settings...it will always pop back to the lan which is the first option in the dropdown...

is it wifi capable? I enter the cams ip and it doesnt go into the login screen.

If you have the wifi model, yes...you need to set the wifi properly...
Make sure the ssid and password are correct...make sure your network settings are correct...remember, the ip address will change when on wifi...are you using SADP to detect the proper IP address?

hmm looks like it wont connect on either cam.wired works good but when on wifi no go.sadp sees them when on wifi but i cannot connect to them using google chrome browser.when wired i went into the wifi tab and connected to the router.then clicked on save button.i changed 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.17 plus changed port 8000 to 8001.


settings in sadp
cam ip address 192.168.1.64

port 8001

sub mask 255.255.255.0

ipv4 192.168.1.17<<<<<router's ip address

Did you change the ip address for the camera when you accessed it via the wired interface?

Whaa was the need to change the port to 8001?

Set the wifi ip address to something other than the lan ip...or try to set it to dhcp, just for testing.

I thought u need to change each cams port for when u want to view outside the network? I changed the ip when wired(through web login) and wireless(sadp login)

no you dont...most routers allow for distinct external ports forwarded to any internal port you wish.
