Hi All, I have a Hik Vision DVR and 4 CCTV cameras in my home. The DVR Model Number is DS-7204.
The DVR is on my home network and I can log in to view my 4 cameras on my iPads and mobile phones. But I want to be able to view my cams on my desktop PC too.
I can log in to my DVR using my Chrome browser. But what I see is a user interface with a blank viewing panel and a message saying " Please click here to download and install the plug-in. Close the browser when installing the plug-in." (I have attached a screenshot).
When I click on that link it downloads a plug-in called "Web Components.exe".
I install it - but it makes no difference to the browser view. (I tried this on FireFox browser also, with same result).
In the HIKVision FAQ section it suggests installing a viewing App called "iVMS 4200" instead.
I downloaded the latest version from their website and installed it.
On running the App it asks me to Log In and presents a Hik Vision Log In dialog box. I insert my usual username/password, but it says incorrect password. I tried many times to login this way but it just says incorrect password.
Now I am wondering if I need to REGISTER with Hikvision on the iVMS4200 app again, because it is a different service? I don't want to do this without being sure because I don't want to cause some sort of conflict with the username/password I already have for my existing iPad/Phone logins.
Can anyone explain the full procedure? Will the iVMS actually allow me to view this model of DVR and its cams after setting it up?
