HIK DS-7608NI-E2/8P with Dahua IPC-HFW1320S cameras?

Having a struggle setting up a new NVR/Camera combination. The NVR is a HIK DS-7608NI-E2/8P and attempting to get a pair of Dahua IPC-HFW1320S cameras working.

At this point, I have not been able to get the NVR to see either of the cameras. The NVR POE control software knows the cameras are there and sees power being drawn by them.

The NVR has set the address range for the POE ports to the range 192.168.254.x, with the NVR being 192.168.254.1. On the camera, I have tried setting them up for Dynamic and Static IP, and assigned an address of 192.168.254.2 and 192.168.254.3 to the cameras. I have set the gateway on the camera to 192.168.254.1 (and also left it blank) I also set the protocol for discovery to ONVIF.

When we go to detect the camera, enter in the password we have setup the camera with previously, the NVR never seems to see/find them.

Tried to locate any FAQ or info on this combo but cannot locate anything. I am stuck at this point and not sure where to look next. Thoughts or ideas?

With my Dahua camera I had to turn off the ONVIF in the camera software and then the NVR would see it. With the HIK NVR settings I did as you did.

I gave it a try, but no luck. I seem to have a lot of variables in play here:
- Should the IPC-HFW1320S camera be set to Dynamic or Static IP? If set to static, the NVR is set to an IP of 192.168.254.1, so can I set the camera to something like 192.168.254.2? Should the camera have ONVIF turned on or off?
- On the HIK DS-7608NI-E2/8P NVR, when on the setup screen for the camera. what Protocol should be used, ONVIF or maybe a custom version, and the management port set to 80?

Not sure where to start or look next, so thought are appreciated..
