Hik cube cam. Two way audio not working?

Using the hik connect app. I can't seem to get two way audio working with my hikvision cube cam model DS-2CD2432F-I which has a built in speaker.

I have the camera setup correct (audio&video) and through the app I can hear what's happening it's just when I press the 2 way audio button nothing comes out at the speaker end.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

is it connected to an NVR or standalone?

That is likely the issue. There a threads that discuss it. Try newer NVR firmware if available. or simply directly connect to the camera rather than the NVR.

Ok thanks. Thats a good point, Im pretty sure im on the latest firmware. Im using a Hikvision 7608NI K2 NVR and the cams are connected directly to its POE ports. Is it possible for me to connect direct to a cam through Hik-connect if im connected to the cameras this way. i know with my last setup i ran a separate switch and was able to connect to each camera separate from the NVR
