Came across this site while searching for info on a recently-acquired POS (Sricam sp009) - wish I'd found the forum before getting the camera!
I've long been interested in online webcam feeds so started out with a Sony handycam --> Snappy parallel port screen grabber which is still going strong 15 years later I might add. Moved onto Foscam 8908 clone (now dead), and more recently Raspberry Pi, and Suneyes P702WPT prior to the SP009.
Why? Well I like playing with the tech on a limited budget, and offering a window onto my world. (http://www.hyland.net.nz/oldsite/home.htm)
Next project: find a way to hack/fix the sp009: good hardware, lousy linux firmware.
