Hello! I have been running a 5231-Z12E for a couple years with no issues. I really have the settings dialed in for License plate captures. I recently moved and needed to add another camera for LPR and the 5231 is no longer available. What I'm seeing with the 5241 is the captures seem pixelated or not as sharp as the 5231. I'v e raised the bit rate much higher than what I have on the 5231 but it doesn't seem to correct the issue. It's not a focus issue as the problem only occurs when there is motion from a vehicle. Any ideas?

Yes, it has been shown here by others (and by myself who has a 5231-Z12E and a 5241-Z12E) that they are different chipsets.
Your other parameters are just as important like brightness, contrast, etc.
But I would switch it to H264 and 8192 as the H265 is macroblocking too much at night and is not helping you when a plate goes by.
Further, I have found that the newer Z12s use a different chipset the the older 5241s and the settings on my recent one I got are completely different from my older 5231-Z12 or neighbors 5241-Z12 settings (that are using my identical 5231 settings). So the baseline settings you used on the Z12E may be completely different for this one.
I have pitch black and these are my settings for the Z12 to get plates with the newer batch of Z12 cams (gain has to be soo high on mine for some reason), but also cannot give it a range for shutter or gain. Mine struggled with any range.

Thank you. I'll try these out for the night profile and tweak some items for the day profile and report back.
I use this stream for the rekor scout software. My main stream records to Blue Iris and didn’t think it was necessary to have 30fps going into rekor scout.
your bit rate is much higher than what I was running which may have lead to the issue. My baseline for these settings was from my 5231 which I can run at a much lower bitrate with great quality.
I used to run these at 8196 and had no pixelation issues. I upped the bit rate to get more definition at night in rainy weather.
