just upgraded to BI 5, and overall CPU usage seems high -- I'm consistently running around 35-40%... any thoughts on my config? (note, I understand this build is probably slight overkill for BI, just stuff I had laying around):

Hardware:
i9-900k/32g ddr4
samsung 970pro 1tb boot drive, 3x wd purple 10tb data drives
nvidia titan (xp)

Running 10 cameras, all dhahuas IPC-HFW81230E-ZE (from andy) running at 4000x3000, all at 10FPS
All cameras set to direct to disc, and limit decoding is unchecked (checking this does impact cpu usage, but I'm under the impression checking this option negatively impacts motion detection?).
I've tried using intel decoding vs. nvidia decoding, I've seen zero appreciable difference.

Any thoughts? I have another setup in another location, same cameras, only using 7 instead of 10, with the exact same software settings, but with different hardware -- a 6850k with a 2080ti (I do have that set up set to decode using intel, since the x99 chips don't have quicksync).
I'm getting around 30% ish cpu usage on that setup ... purely by gut, I'd expect the 9900k to be far better than the 6850 -- given better per core performance and more cores ...

Anyway, seems a bit high to me, any thoughts?

Have you tried dropping the res (or use sub stream) set to 1080P (1920×1080) on any or all the 10 cams?
I'd try a few that you can live with at 1080p and see if the CPU % drops.

Ten cams @ 12MB res is a LOT of work I'd think, even for a i9-9900.

OK, that's helpful. I can live with 35-40% usage, the computer isn't being used for anything else really. just seemed high, made me think I had a setting off somewhere.
