Hardware Acceleration increases cpu usage, temp, and noise

If I turn on Intel, Intel+VPP, or Intel Beta my cpu (I7-11700 non K) usage goes up by about 10-15%, Intel gpu goes from 0 up to 25%, and temp goes from 45 up to 58 degrees C. I don't worry about the cpu usage, since I'm only up to 20 or 30, or those temps, but the sound of the fan bothers me, since this is on my desktop (and I have a very good and quiet cpu cooler: MA620M, in a quiet case: define 7).

Does this make any sense? If so, what do I get out of it for the extra heat and noise? Snappier GUI experience?

This is with a hikvision 2132, a 2142, and 2x PCI-T18F2S.

Thanks for any insights.

we have been turning off Intel hardware acceleration around here.
since version umm .....what ever version made it get CPU intensive.....
You can globally disable HA in settings here

Yes it is documented here that with the substreams option, many have seen the CPU% needed to offload video to the GPU is more than the CPU savings using the GPU.

Plus for some they have experienced issues with BI and HA, so really no reason to use a GPU anymore except for Deepstack.
