To clarify, Toshiba only had the lowest failure rate for q2 2019, which is meaningless. See the second chart in the article, other drives faired better. The bottom line is that the failure rates are very similar across the board.

I'd say Seagate stands out as having the highest failure rate.

That would also not be accurate except for one particular model. Its important to note that they have way more Seagate drives in service than any other brand and they have been in service the longest.

I take this as a meaningless reporting if WD drives are not included.
