H.266 video compression

Just read about the new H.266 video compression here and haven't seen any posts on it yet.
Looks like it is not finalized yet and it is targeting 4k resolution and up.
So I guess that means it will be a while before we see it in BI and Dahua cams.
I figure some other members may have more info on this.

That alone is worth the price of admission...looking forward to its eventual implementation and hoping it's painless and trouble-free as possible.
