First an apology. I have been using this resource for some time without joining as a member. Apologies. Second, I joined several months back, but never introduced myself.
I am a retired Network Administrator from an Architectural and Engineering firm here in Texas and New Mexico. I spent 18 years keeping highly educated employees from
sacrificing themselves on the alter of technology.
I have had an old Nightowl CCTV system at home since forever, but recently upgraded to Blue Iris on a stand alone computer and 10 IP cameras. Three are wireless, and 7 are POE.
The Core i7 Dell Optiplex 9020 with 16 gbs RAM handles the 10 cameras nicely with 45% to 55% CPU maxinum usage.
Glad this site exits, as for the people in it are the best of resources. Thanks for having me.... Talisman511

:welcome:

What processor are you using? For 10 cameras 50% CPU load is a little high. What is your MP/sec ?

I am using an Intel Core i7 -4790. The 50% usage is if five to 8 cameras are tripped at the same time. Normal running usage is about 22 to 25%. MPs is 600 to 650.
