I recently acquired a FLIR security camera system that includes:

  • FLIR Enterprise NVR (USS-EDGE-POE-08i5)
  • Three Quasar 4 x 2K Panoramic cameras
  • One FLIR bullet camera
From what I've found, this appears to have been a very expensive system—the NVR alone originally sold for around $4,000.

I have no experience with FLIR systems or their software, so I'm trying to figure out where to start. One of my main questions is how licensing works. Does each camera require its own license, or are the licenses included with the NVR based on the number of supported channels?

I'm also looking for the best way to test both the NVR and the cameras. I was able to regain access to the Windows 10 Enterprise operating system because it was using local accounts, so I successfully removed the Windows passwords. However, I'm still locked out of the FLIR Control Center and Admin Center software.

Am I correct in assuming that the cameras are normally viewed and managed through FLIR Control Center? If so, is there a way to reset or recover access to the FLIR software, or is reinstalling it the better option?

Any advice from someone familiar with FLIR Enterprise systems would be greatly appreciated.
