First IP Camera system

Thanks to all the fabulous information on this forum, I installed my first IP camera system. I used this to replace my buggy ARLO ultra. For close to the same money I bought 3 HDW5231R-ZE, an i5 6600 HP elite desk sff with 256 ssd & 2 TB WD purple hdd, 8 port POE switch & Blue Iris Software. With almost zero networking experience I was able to set it all up with vpn tunneling. I’m pumped and look forward to learning more and expanding. Thanks to everyone that offered advice or took the time to post informative guides.

Good stuff. I have the same processor, and same number of 2MP cams. Make sure you have hardware accel working. I'm running 20FPS and hitting 9% CPU and 9% GPU.

Wow, that’s great! I set mine to 15 FPS and I’m running 18% CPU. I went through the optimization thread but that’s where I landed. I set up the hardware acc for intel. I should go back and see where I can squeeze a little more.
