Finding the right computer

I need to find the right SMALL computer for BI. Was thinking about something like the Asus minicomputer (ASUS VM42-S075V Desktop ) but it appears you guys don't really recommend something like this. I'll be placing it in a closet most likely and want to minimize heat creation and size. Can you recommend any ideas?

Welcome to the forum..that is a very weak system and will not suffice if you are recording serval hd cameras...How many cameras will you have? which ones? what resolution?

Dell optiplex micro pc's are also good choice if you want small form factor...on sale the i5 haswells can be had for about 300-350 with full three year next business day warranty

Yup, you won't be able to (cost-effectively) get a powerful enough machine quite as small as that Asus, but they can be fairly close.

The best deals use coupon codes which you'll find on the pages linked from the social media sites. Just make sure you are getting an ultra small form factor optiplex workstation. Not a laptop, tablet, or all-in-one, as those will all use underpowered CPUs.
