Finding Electricity

We seem to be doing a lot of apartment complexes lately.
The main issue is finding electricity on the outside of many of the buildings. How do you handle that? Do you build it into the contract that the customer has to provide it?
We tried to work with some local electricians, but they are not cost effective.
Any tips or tricks?

Most of your good camera installers will run power to where it needs to be, for the reason that you listed above. If the customer has the money to hire an electrician to run power for you, then great, but you don't want to lose a job over it. Power is usually assessed during the initial walk through. This usually dictates where your equipment will go and how the design will be laid out. If possible, try to keep your transformers near the receptacles and run wire on the low voltage side of the transformer.

All of that can be ran off of POE.
Of course it can. But the "P" in POE needs to come from somewhere. Usually a switch or POE injector that need to be plugged in. When you have an apartment complex that had 26 buildings that all need wireless bridging.. the task is daunting trying to get electrical on the outside of the building or attics in order to power said equipment.

No mechanical rooms they can be ran from?
