Hello all,
Is it possible to make a direct wireless connection to a laptop in a kind of ADHOC mode? or would I need to be running a router?
I work in the asbestos industry, when we're working in a sealed enclosure you are supposed to be able to see all of it from the outside, either through clear perspex windows or with the assistance of a cam. The cam sets which are sold are fixed cabled cams and generally run on a small 7" monitor which is poor. I was looking for a way to connect an ip pan tlit cam directly to a laptop so one camera could be used instead of 2 or three because it is moveable and also the larger laptop screen is a big benefit also.
I've bought a couple of cams a foscam F18910W and a Sumvision hawkeye but neither seem to provide an ad hoc connection. The typical benefit of the cam is that it can send across the net where I'd just like it to send from the other side of a polythene screen.
Has anyone set anything like this up and how did you manage it?
