Existing NVR and cameras on a house I bought

Hi all, I just bought a new house that comes with Dahua NVR (My guess, as it uses DMSS app) + 8 security cameras. I connected everything myself and when using a monitor, I can see the live stream from the cameras, no problem.

Old homeowner also gave me the admin password, and i changed it. So i can configure anything on the NVR, i also did setup the DMSS app.

I added the NVR to DMSS app first and did the password changed later, and noticed that it doesn't kick me out of DMSS and can still view the cameras live feed.
Also, updated the reset password email and security questions.

My concern is that old homeowner or his family members might have the NVR added to DMSS. How do i make sure that they don't have the access.

I was reading about resetting the NVR to factory default. Does factory reset kicks everyone out? I but I was worried that if I do that, the existing cameras would also need reset, forcing me to unscrew them, which is not possible as they are on 2nd floor soffits.

They probably installed it with the serial number and maybe an older version that allows access that way.

Factory reset of the NVR does not require a factory reset of the cameras.

Simply unplug the cameras and factory reset the NVR. Then plug 1 camera in and wait for it to show on the NVR, then repeat for each camera one at a time.

Try that and then see if that cuts access.

It is best to unplug them or they may initialize at the same time and only one show as they all get assigned the same IP address.

sorry for asking too many questions.. i am very new to this area as first time encountering IP Cams.

Upon initialization of the NVR, the camera will take on the username and password of the NVR.

If you factory reset the NVR and plug in a camera and it never shows up, then the previous owner did something not ordinary and you would then need to factory reset the camera as well.
