After the latest updates 4.2.8.x , I have seen the following message pop up in the Status Messages a few times.
HW VA failed: -2384820104

I searched help without any hits, any ideas on what it means?

likely, hardware video acceleration failed. Does it pop up for a specific camera?
 
Yes it had a camera name listed. I don't remember if it was the same camera name the last time I saw it.
I have rebooted a number of times and did not save the logs.

I guess that Hardware acceleration failing makes sense as I have still not been able to get that to work.

what cameras are you running? is that camera h.264?
 
The latest one is a Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-IS.
Blue Iris is set to Hikvision DS-2CDxxxx RTSP and the camera is set to 1920x1080 30fps 4096 variable bit rate H264
 
Did you find out anything on this issue? I just purchased a similar model and am having the same issue.
 
I recently bought a new computer and now I am getting this error message where as with the old slow computer i am not. Did you ever find out anything on the issue?

Ironically, I haven't gotten a single error since I posted my question yesterday.

I know it is going overboard, but I use this computer as my main entertainment hub for my household. I actually have another 32 gigs of ram to to put in it, can't beat being given free RAM!
 
side note you can change event color for each camera so they appear independently in the timeline...
