Dual stream

Hi all. I am new to BI and learning. So I apologize if this is a dumb question.

I am setting up triggers and learning to do so. But I have had trouble in past with triggers not working and missing beginning of action.

1. I remember reading that you can send a dual stream video feed, a low res that could record 24/7 and a high res that works with motion triggers. That would ensure that we always get the complete story, and not jus the triggered events.

2. Is there a way to record 5-10 sec prior to trigger event?

thank you

BI uses the low resolution steam to detect motion events. I'm not sure if you can force it to use the high resolution stream when you are using substreams. You probably just need to tweak your motion settings.

The "Pre-Trigger Video Buffer" setting under the Record tab of the camera in questions records the seconds you set prior to the motion event.

You need to read through the BI help file.
Also, look here: wiki on how to setup the dual streams.

I did not find anything in either about dual streaming. Is there another name for it?

Thanks Biggen. Just set it up for 5 sec. See how that works for me.

Look for substream in the WiKi.
