This looks like a good camera for the east side of my house which has all of the bedroom windows. The wall with the neighbor is maybe 7' from the house. So, its a long, narrow corridor that I need to cover. I know domes are not ideal for outdoors, but everything is a compromise.

I could either mount it to the house directly on a box or use a bracket to mount it facing down. The downward facing position could give some protection from the sun, but the houses are so close that it's not exposed for too long every day anyway.

Thoughts? Has anyone done this yet?

That's the two camera model, right? Did you want that, or the single camera model (IPC-HDBW4231F-AS)?

I have 7 hdbw4431 (almost same as yours) around my house and despite minidome are not recommended for outdoor I'm satisfied with them. I have mounted them with wall mount bracket because i needed a place to hold the cables. Another solution was junction boxes but i didn't like the compatible one (it's much bigger than the camera).
