This is my first experience with an EXIR camera. The daytime vision is good and the network wireless connection is good. The problem I am having is that the camera seems to be changing modes at night, and while doing so, it momentarily blacks out. (The black out is not caused by rebooting.)

I am thinking that it is in the Day/Night switch that's the problem.

DS-2CV2041G2-IDW (E) Firmware version is V5.7.21 build 230819

Day/Night Switch - Auto
Sensitivity - 7
Filtering - 5
Smart Supplemental Light - OFF
Supplement Light Mode - IR Supplemental Light
Light Brightness Control - Auto
IR Light - 50

Could not attach video file.

Thanks for your help with this.

It sounds like it is simply the camera adjusting to the exposure difference when it is switching settings from the different profiles.

It can happen with cameras under the right situation and settings.

Usually we see a temp blackout or a temp white out depending on the situation.

So I guess this is normal for this particular camera. I tried to attach a video but it wouldn't allow me to. I don't know what the correct format or file size should be. If I can upload it, I will. Thanks for the response.

Without seeing a video, that is what it sounds like. Some cameras are more noticeable than others, and some can take 3-5 seconds to adjust.

You can either post a video to Youtube and link here or use the "Insert video" of an MP4 video:

alastairstevenson, thank you for reply. I will try that tonight. I tried to submit a video, but it didn't accept it. I don't know what the requirements are - such as file size or format.

Thank you,

George

The past couple of nights I haven't seen the same problem. Hopefully it won't return. Thanks everyone for your input.
