Is it better to update with Chinese firmware or pass it to European firmware?

If it is a China region camera, updating the firmware will brick the camera.

It is possible to convert to EN/ML and fully update the device with the EN/ML firmware.

One doubt, the camera works, no brick, do I have to do all the steps of the method?

It's possible to do the 'enhanced MTD hack' manually, but there are some low-level steps required.
However, the script within the brickfixV2 method makes the process easier by handling some of the low-level messy steps itself.
It does not matter if the camera is bricked or working.
