Is there a unbranded version of this camera that is a little cheaper and if so are you able to update the firmware in English?

Trying to decide on the hik or the IPC-Color4K-T180, it seems the hik has a better mount.

There's the IPC-Color4K-T180, OEM'd by Dahua and sold by Empire Tech ( @EMPIRETECANDY ) with VERY nice looking mounts, both ceiling and wall (see both in the link). You can bet the f/w is the best.

It's not any cheaper but usually there's a good reason for that.

The original Hikvision DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL with logo should be around 210USD, i suggest you buy original one instead of OEM to avoid any further risks.

Many of us have bought OEM for many years without risks or issues. And paid anywhere from 2 to 5 times less than logo'd gear....

The key is buying from a reputable seller.

Black Friday sales start soon, hopefully you can catch it and win some prize!

Yes i have that one but the hik mounts differently (the housing), i actually have both looking to buy more. I have the DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL hik branded one and the IPC-Color4K-T180 from empiretec

It seems the hik versions are way cheaper than the 4k-T180, i have both and can't tell the difference except how they mount. One has a different resolution.

As a typical homeowner/consumer, I think you'd get the best service, support and updates from empiretech.....worth a few dollars more, IMHO.
