So we had an aspiring pharmacist (drug addict) come by last night. Heres 3 of the 5 views I got of him.

Dont forget to change all clips to 1080p!

First the cam on opposite side of drive I keep in normal Auto/IR mode. This is why I'm an advocate of 2 cams to cover driveways.


The money shot from Cam2 - He's working his way from your left to my vehicle.


And lastly here he is leaving the neighborhood and trying to avoid the LPR Tag camera he saw pointing at the street entrance - dumb addict walked right toward the Overview Dahua ;) Note that we have been living in a sauna here in Central FL for the past 2 weeks and there is a good amount of fog each night so while this camera is for overview and not intended for facial recognition for (except for stupid criminals) it does typically have a better crisp image but fog was setting in last night..

Odd, there is motion blur on the BG at my vehicle that I'm not seeing on the full .avi on my PC? Youtube?
 
Awesome shots!!!! So is checking the car doors illegal - is he at least trespassing? I have my second driveway camera to get another shot based on all the great input on this board. Can't wait to wire it this weekend.

The problem is getting most urban police depts to consider door-checking illegal. It is rapidly becoming just another thing you're supposed to "live with" just like homeless bums defecating on your yard, etc. The cops don't want to come out and deal with it and/or have better things to do. Where I live, 911 operators will give you an argument on the phone if you try to report someone door checking.
 
I caught one of these fuckers in my neighborhood a few months ago. I was heading to work around 3am and observed a guy come from the far side of my truck and start walking down the street. He had a back pack on which means he was either heading to school or up to no good. I called the sheriff's office and told them there was a dude walking around our neighborhood with a backpack on and checking door handles. They responded pretty quick, parked outside of the neighborhood and walked in. One was on a bike also. If you see these guys late, call it in. I'm almost 40 and haven't worn a back pack since college, about 20 years. If you see someone walking around before 7am with a backpack they aren't up to anything good.

yeah, we are having some good luck with the Dahua 4MP HD-CVI cameras and dvrs. We have been running them over cat5 using baluns and not seeing loss in quality. Some runs are close to 2000 feet.
 
Yeah mine are over cat5/baluns also but my longest run is just 80'.
I'd like to try a 4MP just to see what all the fuss is about, But am happy that Dahua now makes the entire 2MP CVI lineup in Starlight :headbang:
