Does such a spec exist?

I am a bit overwhemled searching various different DVR based systems and can't find anything which confirms this spec. Does it exist or am I making this up? I'm looking for a DVR system that has all this:

  • Backs up (video not images) to the cloud (instantly in small chunks) incase a burglar steals the DVR.
  • I'd like to set it up to backup to Google Drive, if not something else free.
  • Can connect to the DVR via my PC/network to download the videos/mp4s.
  • View instant streaming video over an app via mobile/cellphone remotely (low lag)
  • Records audio.
  • Has a fallback if there is a powercut or burglar trips the power e.g battery.
  • Would be a bonus to have PoE.

Don't install the NVR in plain site for the bad guys to find.
Using the cloud is not advised.
Any modern NVR from Dahua or Hikvision can do the rest of your list.
Put the NVR on a "good" Backup UPS as they all should be.
IF you purchase Dahua cams and NVr, most cams have SD card slots in them, you can record to them as well as the NVR, and that is your back up.

Instead of an NVR the best option is to use Blue Iris - Video Security Software running on its own dedicated PC.
See this: Choosing Hardware for Blue Iris | IP Cam Talk and study the cliff notes.

Google drive is only free for 15GB. You need way more than that for cameras. How many cameras and what is resolution? You internet service may need to be at least 50Mbps upload.

THanks, maybe sd cards are a better backup instead. WIll try find one with sd cards.

Your 100Mbps is download not upload. Upload is probably only 10Mbps.

Thank you thats gold advice, wouldnt have thought 8 feet is around the right height to capture faces, was thinking higher up near the roof but 8 feets makes more sense

1. If you want to back up the DVR by a NAS and have the DVR back up the recording to the NAS.
2. It's better to have a POE switch separate from the DVR.
