Does sharpness make a picture worse?

On the left is a Hikvision cam with sharpness at default setting of 50, on right with sharpness at 0. Without sharpness the picture looks much more natural, detailed and has more color especially noticeable on the plant.



Do you normally reduce sharpness or leave it at default?

In that particular case I think the "added sharpness" is not doing you any favors. Usually the effect is not nearly so pronounced.

I usually leave all such settings at default.
